Gillian is a certified Reflections Yoga instructor, and Thai Massage therapist. She has been teaching yoga in NYC for the last four years to people of all ages, physical abilities, and walks of life. Soundscapes Hatha combines slow and sustained postures with strengthening breath techniques and invigorating mantra. Postures are gentle and flowing and the use of your voice will allow you to feel awareness vibrating in places where you have learned to resist rather than open. Soundscapes Hatha is appropriate for yogis at all levels including beginners. Its creator, Janet Aschkenasy, has studied with sound master Ketul Arnold and alignment expert Paula Tursi. Maureen (RYT300) has trained with experts in the realms of yoga, Buddhism, meditation, healing, and design. Her practice and teaching focus on moving from the center, with the breath and proper alignment. Her goal is to increase strength and flexibility on and off of the mat, while maintaining a sense of humor and grace. Taylor completed her 200 hour trainings in Slow Flow Vinyasa (Reflections Yoga) and in Kundalini Yoga (Kundalini Research Institute). Katie O'Connell, RYT and owner of Dragonfly Yoga Barn in Sandwich, NH received her 200-hr. certification with Reflections Yoga director Paula Tursi, RYT 500. Katie also trained in Ancient Thai Massage with Peter Kaaberbol, enabling her to incorporate Thai yoga therapy stretches in her classes. Katie leads both vigorous and slow flow Vinyasa classes and offers a "Yoga in the Schools" program to local elementary schools. Katie's classes integrate the heart, mind, body, and breath into a practice that fosters awareness, alignment, acceptance, and compassion. Yoga retreats at Dragonfly Yoga Barn begin in winter 2009.
